well 2 years ago my son got a job as a lot tech (car wash-gopher) at the crysler/jeep dealer for 8.00/hr. well as of today he is still making 8.00 never missed a day always willing to work o/t and fill in for others. for the past 6 mons. he has been asking for a raise and they keep putting him off. Last july he was going to UTI for school but had to withdrawl because of the money situation. A lot of the machinics at his work who always ribbed him because he likes Hondas started coming around to his knowledge of what u can do with a 4 banger,and what he has done with his EG HB.Well the service Mgn.approched him,offered a OJT-apprenticeship wooo wooo but said he needs to have more tools befor he can start. well a few of the techs got together and sold him some of their old tools 20.00 for a snap-on 1/2 inpact 50.00 for wrenches etc.
Well today he starts on the line as an app. and later today or tomorrow he talks to the big boss for a 2.00 raise. Good things do come to those who wait.also 2 of the techs have offered him their old books from school and help him get his ASE certification. wish him luck This is a BIG releif off my chest

Great Luck! my friends that work around here for chrysler/jeep only make 6.25 an hour. they would be very happy with 8 and i would be very happy with 6.25. but it sounds like he is doing a great job, and being a good worker. Good Luck! and hope he gets that raise.

Sounds like a good place to work.Patience does pay off but not many kids anymore seem to have any.

Damn, thats shitty pay. where are you from? I make $8.30 as a 3rd Key Holder in a small department store (and I think this is shitty pay)...I'm thinking about taking over the store manager spot soon...30K a year....

ITs good that he may get a raise soon though! HE definitely deserves one after two years with no raise at all...thats shitty business ethics.
