How did they get away with this or was this all a stunt by the cops to get peoples attention?

Nothing new they take your car here if they feel like it and you dont get it back

This has been going on for 5+years

The law states that if your caught street racing the police have the right to take the car and you no longer own it. The car is either resold at auction or crushed

Im not gonna lie...I run my car down some back *** roads where many others run, but if I lived in the states with my car, the track would be the only place I would take my car to....and thats where I plan on racing when I do go back. There are no tracks here in Okinawa.

Street racing in the states IMO is retarded, and I really don't feel the least bit sorry for those dudes. Sorry to anyone who gets offended, but thats how I feel.

No other place can you find the government crushing peoples' personal property for violating a traffic law, and then turning around and letting illegals drive off with no identity, insurance, or registration.

I'm glad I moved outta that shithole. Best thing my family ever did.

yeah, or they could take it to the track, have more fun, be safe about it and not worry about getting into trouble.

I guess theres alot more to 'so-cal street racing' than I am aware of or something...but to me, its just ------- retarded.

But yet you race on the roads constantly? I know there's no tracks but still.

California should really break off and become its own country of stupidity. They claim to be a green state trying to get 0 emissions and all of this other stuff, but then they crush perfectly good cars. For some reason in their pea brains they believe buying a brand new Prius is better for the environment then using already manufactured cars. Obviously they don't realize to make these new cars it requires the burning of a lot of fossil fuel. What a bunch of dumb dumbs. I believe street racing idiots should be punished and their cars should be taken along with their ability to drive, but crushing a perfectly good car is just stupid.
