I used to have a car that could do standing 4th gear burnouts. The turbo screamed, the front of the car was engulfed in a literal mushroom cloud of smoke - I shut down a larger intersection in town doing that once, during rush hour, no one could see the traffic lights to know what to do. It took about 45 seconds to shear off half the tread on a new tire, leaving generous double handfuls of shredded rubber a foot or so behind each wheel.

I dunno, because it's fun?

I bet you're the kind of guy who doesn't like the dragstrip because of tiresmoke. That, and the noise and smell of racegas gives you a headache.

Oh. Well.

I don't smoke weed, and my car was a shitbox that I didn't care about.

No, seriously, I paid $500 for it, and felt like that was too much. Given how the suspension/frame was straight and not wreck damaged, and the car hadn't been owned previously by a riceboy so that it was cobbled up on and ruined, I guess it was better than some people get for $500... but it was obviously a $375 car when I bought it, I just needed something *right then*
