the whole gas is gas thing, if you believe it

Well at least here in SoCal, there was a study done on various gas stations where they took a sample of the gasoline they served and measured the octane. There were a few that had a lower octane content than advertised. Shocking huh, but it's the truth. And if these companies measure the octane rating before adding additives, then the rating could change. Plus I'm pretty sure these companies don't grade every gallon of gas, they probably grade one gallon for every million gallons of gas produced.

So yeah, here's my list of preferred gas stations. Top being most favored.

-76
-Cheveron
-Mobil
.
.
-Arco
.
.
-Cheap mom and pops gas
.
.
.
.
.
.
-Shell

That's right Shell is on the bottom of my list. Why? Well a few Mercedes owners used Shell and it made their egines knock and whatnots. For Honda they may be fine, but I prefer to stay away all together.

Oh and I just filled up my car with Cheveron right now. I like to mix it up a little from the occasional 76 from time to time.

acutally yes it will. the octane rating is only the gas' resistance to detenation, premium needs to a higher flasher point temperature.

Wrong again, octane that your car doesn't require will burn slower..

Wrong again. Octane and burn speed are two completely different variables.
