They have raped people for just a little downloading. They want to make an example of the "casual" downloader, and the courts are happy to help them rape you.

It is not common, but it still happens. If you donwload illegally you are rolling the dice to some point, no way around it.

If you're trying to play any recent game online then you can't just generate a CD-key. Your best bet is to buy one off eBay but then you still might get screwed.

Nostalgia note: I remember playing Dragon's Lair on my old 486 SX and it came with a printed list of codes... When you started the game it said something like "What character/digit is in row 4 column 8" Didn't they know about copiers? lol
