Default Gambling Advice

Hey all,

The wife and i are spending a couple of days in Atlantic City at the Tropicana. Neither one of us has been before and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for first time gamblers.
I think we are going to play some slot machines for a little while and then play Blackjack and Roullette.
Is this the best plan or should we do something else?

There is also an imax theatere here and i was all psyched to see 300. We got here last night and all they are playing is night at the museum and sharks in 3D. That ------- sucks.

Anyway, any advice is appreciated.

My advice is to not gamble. I lose my *** everytime I gamble. If you must gamble, set a limit and dont go over it. There is a reason casinos have the money they do. Have fun without gambling. Last time I went to the casino I didnt gamble and when I left I didnt have that sick feeling I normally have from losing so much money.

You can always play Russian Roullette and gamble with your life, If you're lucky enough, you never have to gamble again.

The key to having fun with gambling is to set your self a spending limit and do not exceed it. the limit you set you need to understand that you WILL NOT go home with. Its more fun if you are already assuming you are just going to spend money to have a good time, but if you set out with the intention to win thats when you end up going over your limit and doing somethign you regret.

Worked out great for me by the way. I was trying to look for the slots that folks squat on for a while but dont win anything. I got really lucky and won $400 and a few $30 - $60. i played the $.25 slots and won the 400 on the dollar slots.

I love vegas. the whole trip only cost me like 100 bucks after I counted my winnings. I was smart enough to bring most of it back with me

don't waste your time with anything else other than black jack.

always split A's and 8's regardless of what the dealer is showing.

i once won $600 in half an hour playing blackjack... i won $200 on one hand. that is the only game i'd play at the casino, except in montreal, i wouldn't play there at all since the dealer has the option to hit on 17 or not. :P

have fun.
