I`ve had one of the older models for like 3-4 years now, and its lots of fun. If you use it on the same stretch of road when comparing different cars, it is accurate in determining differences. It is easy to `skew` the results if not setup right. I liked to use it for 0-60 runs to practice different ways of launching. The HP function was useful when testing before/after turbo. (just had to be sure and enter the same curb weight each time)

Worth the $129 I paid? To some maybe. For me it was worth it for entertainment, and to watch my friend get so excided launching his Cobra so hard he was at 6k in second and still only doing like 15mph...lol Smoke shows smell good

I also have an older model. I used it on the streets late at night to get 1/4 mile times. I was pretty hadppy and thought it worked pretty good...until...

I decided to take it to the track with me. I "knew" the G-Tech probably wasnt accurate but I figured that if I could compare the times the G-Tech gave me to the times that the professional track equipment gave, I could figure out the ratio between the two and then use that calculation to "calibrate" the G-Tech on the streets.

What I found was the G-Tech results varied wildly from the track times. Sometimes it was high sometimes low. I recorded all of the information on a ------sheet. The was absolutely zero consistency with the G-Tech. I made 7 passes with it. All factors (mounting position, temperature, elevation angle, etc) were held as constant or more than what you could get on the street.

My review? Dont waste your money. It wont give you accurate, consistent readings. If you want a mere "novelty" then by all means spend $125 and get one. But, I am interested in REAL numbers not what this unit gives. I was completely disappointed with the unit after taking it to the track. Afterwards I threw it in the glove box, where it remains.

The $15 test and tune fee is a much better investment.

My $.02

Just look on eBay at all the people selling them in "like new condition" for around the price of $50-$75.

That should tell you something...

I heard that the only thing consistent were 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times...but then after reading what John Black said, I don't know what to believe

I am thinking about the Blitz Power Meter, they tested it in a magazine versus a dyno and it came out like 1hp off. So I am guessing that its pretty good.
