what do you think the cobra guys were doing when they first came out?? twin svt focus pumps yo.

your design doesn't appear to help any only hinder
if you must, drop that tank, and build in a trap door on the floor of the tank like an oil pan that a autocross guy would run with a little cage that would encapsulate the fuel around the pickup. or heres an idea....
run a full tank of fuel cause if you are having fuel 'pick up' issues there is no where near enough fuel in the tank
