found my old car, A YEAR LATER!!
last july my red spec-v was reposessed. my wife and i were in a nasty divorce and she had been funneling my car payments out of my bank account. i didnt know until i woke up and my car was gone.
fast forward to yesterday. a friend of mine called me and told me he found my spec at a car lot across town. so we went to look, and sure enough its mine. and i still have the keys to it. then a stupid thought crossed my mind, you know what im talking about. i tell the guy at the car lot that it used to be my car. he says"good, then maybe you can tell me why it wont rev over 2200 rpm's" i say i dont know. (MAF going out in a spec is very common, but i dont tell him that). i ask him how much and he said $3500. he said he got it at a auction in atlanta and that the guy who sold it had spent $2200 at a nissan dealership to try and get it fixed.
so i ask him if i can tinker with it and he hands me the keys and tells me to go for it. i take the maf from my other spec and put it in and it still runs like ----. so i call it a day and go home.
today i go back and look around, and the safc II i had was not removed, but the harness had been cut. and since the safc just intercepts, and alters the maf reading, and it not being there, but still wired to the ecu, the ecu wasnt getting the maf reading. i rewire the ecu and it runs perfect. i drove it for a while and took it back, and the whole time this guy hasnt even came out of the office. so i take the ecu back out, rewire the safc harness and make it run like ---- again.
i will get my car back, soon. i wasnt gonna fix their problem just so they could up the price. if i cant get it, then i will tell them i can and will fix it, for a modest sum.
what luck is that? i lost it a year ago. it only has 6,000 more miles on it than it did. it was auctioned once 80 miles from my house, then auctioned again 150 miles away, just to end up in my backyard for 3500 ------- dollars. anyone wanna loan me $$$

and the kbb on it is 8,690. 3500 is a steal. how is 8690 depriciated when i bought it for 8400 two years ago? in reality i could pull 7500 from it easy.
