Find a copy of XP Corporate. You format and install the thing in a half an hour without ever having to enter or look at a cd-key.
And formatting is BS, unless you're doing a low level format. Basically when you format you're just putting placeholders in front of all of the file locations that basically say "this is free space me for storage." There's still stuff there so it's best to defrag after a format and fresh install.

Fast format takes 5 minutes. What a big deal!

good quality. i use to use fdisk, but every os you find now has their own partition junk during install and you can download stuff like partition magic neways. meh, just one less thing to do to get you back running
