Flickering oil light WTF?

at least you admit it albert. Well, i went and started it when it cooled down and the oil pressure came right up and as soon as it did the noise went away, so tomarrow im gonna pull the oil pan and see what is in my pickup tube, if anything.

he said its making some noise to, i'd be willing to bet the bearings are toast.

the pump does care what its pumping, if the oil is thined out it will flow past the bearings easier and just go back to the pan instead of going on up(not making as much pressure because there isn't as much resistance). Same thing will happen if you have a bad bearing. Good luck.

ehh it quieted right down and all the noise went away when the oil pressure came up when i started it later... ill have to see tomarrow when i pull the pan

Oil gets thicker when it cools. so it would have better pressure ;-)

yep.

Personally, i'd pull the pan and pull off all the rod caps and take a look at the bearings. if they all look minty then pull off #3 and #4 mains and see how they look.
