Re: 64 ford fairlane bogs at wot. any ideas?
the filter is clean, and the line coming from the pump/filter is hardline with 3" of rubber line at the carb.
i do have some new rubber line though so i'll replace it anyway
i didn't get a chance to hook up the fuel gauge today. i'm gonna set it up tomorrow.
i drove around all over the place looking for a fuel gauge, then i realized that they are not with the gauges they are with the carbs. ------- pissed off.

you think a parts store fuelpump made in bangledesh is going to be 100% perfect? just because it can flow, does not mean it can supply enough fuel at topend. how ------- hard is the concept of a no-name with a parts store tag going to be better than a brand name (edelbrock, holley, aeromotive, walbro) performance pump thats rebuildable??

this car is not going to get an expensive fuel pump or carb or anyother thing you think it needs.
it's a beater daily driver. this car is not gonna go down a race track or anything like that.
and what makes you think i think a vatozone pump is better then a holley pump?
you sound like a parts installer that thinks he's a mechanic. you don't replace ---- cause it's not a name brand part if it's working. first you find out what is broke then you fix the broke part.
maybe you are too ------- dumb to understand i just lost my job and i can't afford a new fuel delivery setup.
if the carb is bad then i'll replace it or rebuild it. if the pump is bad then i'll exchange it for a new one.

If its lack of fuel delivery to the carb you should have decent WOT for a couple seconds until the float bowl runs dry, idle it out, and be able to repeat every time. If not im guessing something else

also i noticed that if i'm in park and i rev it the car lurches forward a few inches, what could be causing that? maybe a related issue?

Craig.
i noticed the other day that one of wires was falling apart so i fixed that. the pos side is the one i fixed.
the neg side had a push on connection like you were talking about, but it felt tight.
today while hooking up my fuel pressure gauge i noticed there was another wire on the neg side using a ring connector. the push on connector was pushed on keeping the ring connector on. well the wire with the ring connector was loose.
it's fixed now and running great. just gotta get the 8 feet of fuel hose coming out of the hood to the windshield off and hook everything else back up.
thanks HMT. you guys mother ------- rock.
craig just cause you were right i'm gonna order some stuff from you the next time i need stuff you sell.
