Cephalexin is a first generation (out of 3) cephalosporin. <- pharm class. Therapeutic class- anti infective. It works by binding to bacterial cell wall membranes causing cell death. Active against many gram + bacteria i.e. strep staph.... good for uti's pneumonia, otitus media, skin and bone infections... sides nausea vomiting and diarrhea cramps, rashes, pruritis, possible anaphylaxis.
Of course if your mom's an RN then she could have told you all of this from her drug guide and more.... Soon enough I'll have them two letters at the end of my name too.... Any other stuff any of yall need looked up just ask....

Re: Fish antibiotics
I would run it for 10 days total. Most people dont take the full script when they receive and antibiotic and well the next time that strand of bacteria causes them sickness it is more resistant to drug. How do you think MRSA got so bad? So even though you are feeling alot better Id hit the ten day mark regardless of how I was feeling.

Which leads us back to Tom's illness being viral in nature, which means the antibiotics did nothing for him but helped breed resistant nightmare strains of bacteria. ---- you, Tom, you are a bastard. BTW, don't forget to drill some active culture yogurt to replenish the good bacteria that's supposed to live in your GI tract and help you digest food. It might help a little while on the antibiotics but you really need to be eating it after the anitbiotics are leaving your system.
