Intel ---- is for people that dont know ---- about computers and only like them because they been force fed the brand since birth and have the money to waste. Amd is has a better price/performance ratio and is more of an enthusist product. Like people do HMT are enthusist and SRT-4 owners probably dont know ---- about cars and just have money to blow

Ah.. now I understand (look how much the thread was jacked). I would've understood better if you said:
HMT=AMD
HT=Intel
or something like that. But anywho..

It's all a matter of features now like ddr2 coming soon sata2 PCIx, crazy *** SLI mode video cards raid arrays 64 bit capabilities, buffer overflow protection on die memory controllers and just other stupid ---- like that, no real raw muscle flexing processor power. Just wait for 2800+ 90 nm socket 939 Amd's when they release the NForce4 board. By then everything should stabilize until dual core CPU's are released.
i hear you about the new sata and ---- coming out, i opted for the 32 bit because honestly, besides linux, and the server market, i havent seen any 64 bit development as far as gaming is concerned. Also to whoever mentioned getting cheap ram, sry not happening, you know what happens to cheap ram when u oc, well in your terms D15 + 30 psi...
if i were to go with a better vid card, ---- would have to go =\ like the speakers or some other item. As far as the amd 64 goes, i like them for their awesome game performance, also though it is early 64 bit technology, and as everyone knows itll most likely change. thats why i am holding out on the 64 bit. No matter what anyone sais, 3,200 mhz will do something, especially with threaded programs.

also as far as the comment agianst the 9600XT, your losing your mind. i have my Ti4200 running speeds of a Ti4600, i run doom 3 on good setting/farcry too.

Also if it were just for games id downsize the cpu and get a graphics card. I know someone who has a 2000+ with radeon 9800XT 256, and he runs ANY game out today.

to the analogy guy about the srt-4 the price gap is closing VERY fast on the cpu war.

As far as prices are going right now in the whole processor market, AMD is trying to imitate intel. Even though yes they are cheaper they're not really as cheap as you'd think. As far as performance is the topic amd64 with their on die memory controllers stomp on any of the 478 PIV's, even the single channel socker 754's. The reason i'm saying upgrade now not later is because you will regret it and go into a vicious cycle of upgrading the damn POS to play games at a decent framerate without it ever just spiking. the 6 series cards just recently came out and they're going to probably be the top of the line until a good year from now. Even then they will be like your 9600xt would be now. Memory isn't in prices it's on what actualy chips they use on the damn stick. about 2000000 companies all use the same brand chips such as from Samsung Micron Hynix. There are some off brands that use some completely ---- off brand ---- that just tears everything down as far as cheap ram namesake goes. Komusa and PQI are to very friendly overclocker companies that don't charge nearly as much as the bigger companies. If you want to get deeper into memory i invite you to go to overcloekrs.com forum's and check whatever they have found that is in trend. Screw LCD's they're for prissy little girly men : P

ditch all the black this black that, they cost more.

personally. id never rock an ati card. i like the nVidia cards myself. make sure the ram's bus speed matches the boards. you dont want to get a 800 mhz FSB mo board and get ddr266 memory. (bottle neck it for sure).

i dunno black floppys are cheaper and sometimes black cd-rom/cd-writers on newegg. i just recently bought the grey antec case that has a 300watt PS with it so nothing matched it cause it was a grey and not black but it had a door to cover all that ---- up so it works all good, i love the case cause it had a back and front(optional) 120mm fan. the back is temp control and choose one of your liking for the front.
