Default Failed emissions, need help

I just took my emissions test and failed. My hydrocarbons and carbon monoxied were barely over. Im running a greddy turbo kit on my d16z6, with a 12:1 FMU and Inline fuel pump. I disconnected the wastegate as well. Why wouldn't i pass? I was using full exhaust with cat and muffler too. Is there some way i can use a dx ecu and pass? Any ideas?

Also, i have to get a reciept from a shop saying the problem was fixed, what if i fix it myself? I don't want to pay another 30 bux to take the test.

Any and all help is appreciated.. thanks.

Just register it somewhere that you don't have to pass emissions. After 3 failed emissions this year, that's what I did.

Fill up your tank and add 1 gallon of denatured alcohol. I heard about this awhile ago and I now do this when I know I'm not gonna pass. It really does work. You can get it a Home Depot for aobut $12 a gallon.

what exactly does it do, and it made you pass? Can anything bad come out of using it?

It just burns really clean. It will not harm your engine as long as you use one gallon to a FULL tank of fuel.

Thats what I've done everytime I need to get a sticker and it's worked every time. Theres tons I could get failed for with my car. I want to know more about this denatured alcohol thing. I've never heard of it and I personally would be a little scared putting anything but gasoline in my engine. Your postitive you've tried it and it never did any harm?
