exhaust
i want to put an exhaust sys on my new neon but i hear strait pipes are bad for valves and illeagle. now if i get rid of my cat (or hollow it out) and just put in a muffler, it shold sound leagle and be illeagle?? and what are my chances of getting caught?? cuz i relly dont want to pay 600 or so for a cat back system but if i go with the hollow out of the cat and put in a good muffler do i need to tune crap?? or anything or just bold on the new stuff?

different exhaust system on a stock car=5hp or less.......why not start learning about i dont know....turboing your car and get an exhaust to match the turbo setup you pick instead of worrying about beating the stock 4 door civic that happens to be driving next to you on the freeway.

basicaly i want a car that i just drive and is "cool" to some peoples standards and if some one at a light wants to race i will not embarrise my self too much and sound cool, and im woried that if i buy a muffler that on the HW it will have a ennoying low humming loud sound, i think i will go with a CAI and no turbo, well maybe way down the road but this car is new and has some good warinties and i wont want to ruen them for now, but maybe if i have the car in like 10 years or so i could go turbo but by then i guess i will have another car, but i want a exhaust system and im not sure how to do that and i dont cant to get one that makes loud noises at HW speeds and i will go with the CAI and i hurd about this pully thing that gives less power to the a/c and some stuff so that more power goes to the wheels, i dont know if this really helps or if things will ware down fast, need the info please

too your question, cai will make your car sound "cooler" without voiding warrenty. pretty much any "performance" muffler you put on your car will make it loud. it wont make a dif from your stock exahust. it'll just be loud.
