Default Engine stands

what type of engine stand should i get for a honda motor? i've never used an engine stand before and i'd like to, no more building ---- on the ground for me. where do they hook up to the motor? how much should i be looking to pay for one?

I like the 1000lb engine stands, they are about 50 bucks from harbor freight, sometimes they go on sale for around 35~40 bucks.

Also, the 750lb ones work just fine too.

they have 4 legs that are sliding that bolt to the same tapped holes the trans does.

jeez i didnt know they were so cheap! thats awesome. time to buy a stand and start cleaning up a spare engine!

what bolts do I need to get to mount the motor up to the stand? do you know what the size/threads are? and how long they should be (approximately)

Tranny bolts are about the right size... maybe just a tad short, just take one out, and run to the bolt store, you will only need 3 of them.

hehe, i don't have any tranny bolts, maybe i'll just guess, and hope for the best.
