Is engine such a horribly sound that you will hear it past 1500RPMs? Could someone please describe to me if I have engine knocking. By the way...what is the probability of blowing a head gasket and it not causing some kinda smoke?

when ur engine knocks u hear hear a "knock" sound. thats why they call it knocking. and if u blow the headgasket, the oil and cooland will mix. check yer coolant tank, does it have oil in it? then drain yer oil, does that have coolant in it? if so, u got a blow headgasket. they arent fun to replace

Ever crimp a hose at the tip? You know where you form a "V" and it makes a really awkward crimped sound? Thats what detonation sounds like.

Maybe if your lucky it's something else, something easier to fix.
