I'm not sure I agree. How many people need to travel over 200 miles in a day? Not very many. Either way, if you need to do 400+miles a day, hybrids still seem like a valid solution for those who live in rural areas. As for nuclear, I doubt that small percentage of morons and tree huggers keep stuff from getting done. End result is someone doesn't think it is in their best interest on a higher level. The past has shown that if big business wants to accomplish something, it takes a good bit of effort against their effort to succeed. Morons and tree huggers definitely don't fit the bill.

Tman, where did that math come from? It makes no sense how you can equate mpg to mile range. The only way to get an accurate assessment if its economically worth using an electric car is to figure out how much the electricity costs to give the battery a full charge and then compare it to what a similar gasoline powered car would do.

Your right on that GM had a production electric car back in the 90's. They use to have outlets for them in southern california at for example malls etc. They were something that could of caught on but GM held back and got rid of them



A gmc pickup is where they will make there money not a hippie car. Im surprised gm even started a program to develop it.

Anyway honda has been testing water powered
cars.You would never really run out of water.
There was a guy that traveled from the east coast
to the west coast on 17 gallons of water.Home made car 2 seater.

For the last 5 years, and for the next 15 there is a nuclear boon in the south. Old reactors long shut-down have been, and are being referbed while new ones are being built. Nuclear has room to grow down here, as opposed to msot of the energy that comes from coal fired boilers.


I wouldn't mind an electric car at all... Unfortunately it's not a viable solution for a primary car because i am prone to random road trips, and drive 90-120 miles every day.

I think, (dont quote me on this yet i will repost when i find the page) the millage calculation comes from avg ICE car's efficiency/cost of gasoline gives you the miles per dollar compared to miles per charge of electric car/cost per charge from the grid

Electric motors are much more efficient than gasoline because a lot of the energy from ICE's is released as heat, electric motors waste less energy in the form of heat, they are also much more efficient in low speed drive and go traffic, and acceleration from a stop as opposed to ICE's that's why all your hybrid cars use the electric motors for low speed and switch to gasoline at higher speeds

and about the pollution I also read somewhere, I'll look for exactly were that electric cars pollute 97% less than ICE cars including the pollution at the power plant

the thing i like the most about EV's is that you can charge it anywhere with an extension cord, also you get total control over what you use to power your car, wind power has been getting cheaper the last few years
