Default eg Hatchback with a problem

hi, i just recentley purchase a 92 civic hatch vx...

the problem is...
when i put the car in 1st gear and reverse, i try to go, but the car wont move...

also with the car in neutral the car makes a click-click sound from the tranny...but when i set on the clutch... the car sounds normal...

the guy i got it from said that it has a bad clutch, but i took that ---- apart, brought the clutch to the shop, they said that it was still in pretty good condition.

also when i took the axle out, i found the boot ripped apart, and the axle fell in 2 pieces...

i check the throw-off bearing, but it seems good still..

i dont know if my problem is in the tranny...
i spin the shaft it spins freely...

does any1 know my problem?
should i just find a tranny and slap it in, i dont want to put this ---- together, than take it apart if the problems not fix...

plz help

My tranny's internal shifting mechanism broke on me and I lost second and reverse and 1st were a HUGE pain to get into and out of. The cast aluminum cradle that holds second gear fractured and I had aluminum parts rattling around in my tranny housing. Check your tranny oil, mine was filled with aluminum particals that made it look like silver paint. If yours looks like this then you have to change that linkage. Hopefully this isnt your problem, mine took two days to fix.

I had a shaft pop out and it made a clicking noise like that and wouldn't move. I just tapped the axle back in and it was fine. Hopefuly your problem is that easy?

i think it mite be the axle too..because the tranny seems fine, gets into everygear with no grinds...but only thing it didnt move....

also the axle was broken or dislocated the boot ripped and when i took the axle off, the piece that goes on the rotor just fell apart?

so i just bought a new axle for it...im trying to put the tranny bak on but that ***** a bitch...im waiting til tomorrow so i can have my friends come and help me do it...

clutch seems fine, tranny seems fine, pressure plate is good, flywheel is good, brought it to the auto shop...he said everything looks good...

so im thinking its my axle....
hope this is my problem...

thankyou for the replys,
henry
