Default Ebay seller advice needed please

I sold an external shock sensor to a DEI alarm on ebay in July. I received payment July 27th and shipped it out shortly after. I got an email from the guy saying he hadn't received it. I hadn't received it back either. He started preassuring me to give him his money back which I am unwilling to do. I do happen to have another shock sensor that I would send him, but why should I. How do I know that I'm not getting scammed for being the nice guy. Its been well over a month. He's gotten very crappy with me and has threatened to contact ebay and paypal if I don't send him his the shock sensor this week. He's called me a liar because I told him I'd find another sensor or refund his money. He then asked for his money back and I said I wouldn't refund it but send him another sensor. I forgot I even said I'd refund it, so that was a mistake, but he called me a liar and said "how do I even know you sent it, you've already lied to me once"

I'd like to be the nice guy and take care of him if he really didn't get it, but with the way he's treated me and the fact I really don't know if he got it or not I'm just not sure what to do. My plan was to send him the other sensor.

What would you guys do?

That is why you always either include something for insurance($1.75) and/or delivery confirmation($0.45), that way you are covered. I always do delivery confirmation because that way you have proof of it being sent/received; or clarify on your auction that if they do not pay for insurance you are not responsible for items lost or stolen.

But you already told him that you would refund it/send another one, so you have to do so, if it was done via e-mail he probably has all the e-mails still and proof that you said that before. Ebay can and will cancel both your ebay account and paypal account. As far as the ebay account goes, you can always create a new name and start over, but paypal is linked to your bank info, so you would need to make a whole new identity, new accounts.

I would try again to send him another one, with insurance and delivery confirmation, he will get his merchandise and the most he can do is leave you a negative feedback. He will get what he paid for, just late.

If you don't want the negative feedback, refund him the money, maybe he won't give you the negative, although he still can do it.

Again I would just send him another one, and learn for next time to put warnings on your auctions.

I guess you are probably right. I didn't mind sending him another one at first, until he started getting crappy with me about it and just wanting his money back. I don't want to totally lose out on this. I sent out my item for free basically and then I'm going to have to pay for shipping and insurance now. I always send higher dollar items ups, but this was only 25 so I didn't.

Can he even dispute this now. Is there a time limit on this stuff?

I'm not sure about a time limit, but I know that after 90 days you cannot look at an auction page, if it has been that long I might go ahead and send ebay an e-mail first, before he does, about the situation and how long it has been, maybe they will give you more options, but it will look to them as you being the one wanting to fix the problem, not as a scammer

assuming the payment was made by paypal.
if he has a UNCONFIRMED address, or if you have the part SHIPPED TO A UNCONFIRMED ADDRESS, he can always reject payment within 3 months and there is ABSOLUTLY nothing you can do about it.
if he paid with a confirmed address, AND YOU HAVE THE PART SHIPPED TO A CONFIRMED ADDRESS he will need to contact paypal before he can reject the payment, on the process paypal will ask you if you have any TRACKING NUMBER, if you do have it you will ALWAYS WIN. but if you don`t, you WILL LOSE.

cliff note when doing sales viz PAYPAL
1) only accept payment from a verified buyer.
2) only accept payment that comes with a CONFIRMED address.
3) ONLY ship the parts to a CONFIRMED address.
4) ALWAYS get a INTERNET ASSABLE (sp :P ) TRACKING NUMBER

without following any of the single rlue above, YOUR MONEY CAN BE TAKEN AWAY by paypal within 3 MONTHS after the sales.

Well I just went and shipped it. Only option I had was to go to the UPS store and a box that weighed less than a couple pounds was 9.25 to ship to NY from IN. I asked for the tracking number and they said they would email it to me. I about got pissed, since I was made enough they wanted 9.25 to ship UPS for something that only costs a couple bux to ship then they didn't want to give me the tracking number right away. GRRRR....i'm just pissed. Oh well, he'll get his sensor and I'm out about 35 dollars or so, but whatever: live and learn I guess.

if they said they will e-mail it to you...then prob.ly u will never get it.
go ask them the day after in person.
also.
if i believ you took it to one of those shipping store instead of true UPS store?...then yo uwill get rapped.
i`ve shipped something that cost only 5 bucks at UPS store and these shipping store wants 14 bucks for it.

I demanded it on the spot so she did the shipping label and gave it to me. I wasn't gonna let them tell me they would email it to me since I am going out of town today and won't have a chance to go back in person until a week from monday. I knew if I didn't get it then, I might not ever.

BTW, that was at the The UPS store. Thats a total ripoff. My dad is a UPS sender and I usually send through him but had not time to this time since I forgot about it until today, well maybe I put it off a little due to his attitude.

I have people try to ---- me all the time with this ----. I use delivery confirmation every time. And if I can't find the number (cause I'm oh so organized) the only thing your getting is a new product. Never money, never.
I've caught a couple people trying to say, "well, it's not here and I was just thinking that I want my money back instead", and then I find that the thing WAS delivered. What a fucken scam. I basically just send out a nice "---- you" email and I'm done with it. The real scammers will beat the "no, it really never came" drum until your ears hurt, but I say ---- em'.
(Try getting a response like that from Nopi)
