Default DYI Intercooler spryaers ????

O.K. I haven't seen anybody post about this and I have been thinking about it alot the last two days and it seems soo easy. I use to work for Suburu and when I got my hands and the new STi when it came out which I put a post up about the Test drive I took in here When the STi first came to the dealership I worked at and I saw like the EVO. it had a intercooler sprayer to my I amaze it was nothing more then a relocated bottle in the trunk where the bottle to fill the sprayer up and there was also a bottle in the front for the regular window sprayers.

It looked like all they did was put a extra window sprayer nozzle facing the intercooler. So I was thinking will this work. What if I got two extra window sprayer nozzles not going to take out the ones in my hhod cause I have nothing to plug the holes up. But buy some extra rubber vacuum tubing same size as the window sprayers and just simply mount two of the sprayers in my front bumper pointing at mny FMIC and just use my stock bottle and pump for the spray since I like never use my sprayers on my hood anyway and just run the stock switch or a new one and make my own DYI intercooler sprayers.

Not sure if anyone has thought of this idea yet but are these things as simple as it seems. Also will it make any difference when I'm spraying the intercooler. I know this is suppose to help the HEAT SOAK problem intercoolers get but do they really make a differemce and will this work. Thanks

Could anyone else understand a ------- word in the first paragraph?

Just run the ones from your hood down, you dont need to clean your windshield that often with them.

no dude, ---- that. you want a subzero gas to be going over your intercooler, not water or alcohol or whatnot. only liquid id want on my intercooler would be liquid nitrogen or something of that nature...but that just plain will never even happen. nitrous express has things called n-tercooler's. cryO2 also has some. what they are is a surcualr loop with holes in it. either nitrous or carbon dioxide is sprayed onto the intercooler from there. the reason they use n2o or co2 is because in the bottle, its a liquid at that pressure. as soon as pressure is released, it becomes a gas again. when a gas is compressed to the point where it becomes a liquid, when that pressure is taken off of it and it returns back to its gassious state, it absorbs lots of energy...in otherwords, it gets reallly cold. cold enough to easily freeze things. thats exactly what you want on your intercooler. if youve ever held an arosol can upsidedown and sprayed it on metal and saw it freeze the metal, youd see a working example of this. spraying water on the intercooler would do jack ---- really, unless the water was mush colder than than the ambiant air temperatures, like freezing...and you cant exactly spray frozen water, much less keep it frozen for long, so basicly, ---- that idea. use what everyones been using for a while now... n2o or co2.

go for it dide. but what i would do is put it on a circuit oard that detects the right ammount of heat and it just simply sprays like all hell untill it gets cool.

O.K. Cap what are you a frickin school teacher. I wrote the post in a hurry cause I was out the door. Does it matter you get the idea. First I thought of it cause it's a cheap upgrade that'll only cost me like $4.00 to do this. I don't like and will never run the bar nitrous or Cryo sprayer tubes just cause I could spend $500 on something better then a bar that sprays nitrous or C02 on my I/C plus the cost of refilling the bottle. I'll try it anyway cause I'm going to the dyno soon to fine tune for more boost I have it just set at low boost and street tuned myself babying it cause I just put this new kit on. I will install it for the dyno and make some runs with it active and post about it to see how much it works.
