DVD cloning software
I want some software to make exact copies of DVDs that I rent. Like with menus, chapters and all including dual layer. Actually its not for me its for someone who isn't exactly a computer geek. There are tons of software, I don't mind paying for it, but I want to know whats good, free would of course be a plus, this is HMT. What do you guys use.

Re: DVD cloning software
DVD shrink can make exact copies, it's just most commonly used to fit a dual layer disc onto a single layer disc.
DVD Shrink doesn't always work though, DVD Fab Decrypter does.
If you want it to be an exact copy so you won't know the difference, you're going to need to burn onto dual layer media, which costs about 10x more than a single layer disc.

Re: DVD cloning software
There are newer copy protection schemes on some DVD's that Shrink can't handle.

i used to use oneclickdvd + dvd43
got sick of that ----, bought a large hard drive, and i just download full quality blu-ray rips . takes a few days sometimes to get a movie, but so does netflix
+ dual layer burning is slow and stupid, some movies do fit on a standard dvdr. funny thing is, alot of blu-ray rips in full quality w/dts fit on dvdr's
