Well, you can switch where your vtec engages and disengages, and if you ever plan on going turbo, you could use the VAFC as a possible way to control 450 cc injectors.

It depends on you chosen set-up. If your going stand alone I don't think you need it.

The hack is a less expensive way of controlling the A/F & VETEC crossover.

I use it to raise my VTEC so i can get decent gas milage (80 MPH = 5500 RPM)

Definetly worth it for that set-up.

It will provide useful adjustability.

ok but i checked apexi website and it says to have a professional install it and tune it. is it possible to do it on my own? i mean i do all work on my cars, always have, have rebuilt engines and done a homemade turbo but I am curios about the tuning part of the vafc.
thanks

the tuning part is a snap man. yeah you can do it yourself. read up in the engine management section. I beleive theres some good info there about settings and wiring etc. And if you've got any more specific questions ask. Thats what we're here for.

Unfortunately a lot of these tuning hacks work but not all that well. Reason being - the ECU also controls ignition timing. In my opinion it's far better to have your ECU converted to run vtec. This way you have a specific and tuneable vtec map that covers timing and fuel. Of course I'm biased because I make money from converting and chipping ECUs.
