Jon's shop was in Hudson, NH. I met him at the N7 meet and he seemed like a pretty cool guy to me. He even paid for a whole line of cars to park when we drove to see the Falls. No one asked him to, he just did it. I remember that group buy on HT and all the controversy that went with it. I don't think he screwed people intentionally at first, I think he had good intentions but as people started bitching and complaining and the realization that he'd bitten off more than he could chew set in, I think he just said "---- it" and just started ignoring the whole situation. Not that that's any excuse, just my take on it..

The basic story, is that this guy had always been shady, and very very slow in getting anyone anything, but the icing on the cake, was about a year and a half ago, he did a group buy on some log manifolds... there are still people who haven't received them.

A miriad of excuses was given, everything from no time, to moving his shop, to having a kid, to whatever else he could pull out of his butt were given, but bottom line, is he basically stole a lot of money from people, and pissed a lot of people off.

Stay away from Jon and "The Drop Shop"... for some reason, people continued to buy parts off of this guy no matter what he did. His website (www.TheDropShop.tv) is down though now, so he's prolly out of it... or he just changed his business name ::shrug::
^^^^My sentiments exactly. I remember him from the crx resource. It seemed as though every week there was another problem with his business dealings. I'd stay far away from him and his business.

If I remember right, the drop shop was one of the first places where you could buy an actual machined HF adapter plate. Then they handed off the plates to someone else, and were never heard from again. I talked to him once, and didn't get the feeling he was very much into the whole business thing, so I never went any further with any deals. Didn't seem like a bad guy tho...

Jon is a nice guy...he really is and tries to be so. I would say only deal with him in person and only buy parts from him if he alreadf has them...if he actually has to make them, you will have delays, gauranteed.

I met him this summer and we became friends for a bit...I thought he got a bad rep and he really was a victim of circumstance. He really did have a kid, he really was kicked out of his shop...but obviously that is no excuse. he fucked up and wasnt man enough (or business savvy enough) to deal with it.

Last I heard of him he was buying an AWD dynapack dyno and going in ca-hoots with some domestic guy who was fronting the $$$ (god bless him). Im pretty sure he still lives in Manchester, NH

If anyone is still owed $$$...pm me here and if I see him I will let him know. Honestly, he probably just didnt keep good records and doesnt even know who he fucked over anymore.
