Well CS seeing how it was probably bolted to one of you're mani's. The mani probably ripped in half, the turbo then slammed into the ground, then he ran over it, realized his mistake, taped it up for a quick fix, and then sold it to your friend.
:1 :1 :1

<_< Naa. That's interesting. Could it be some fluke of a rebuild? Or just a bad product? Who's to say one Civic or Accord was never a Lemon before. Same can go wrong with turbos.

Especially since most turbo's don't even spin at idle, and it takes all of .5 seconds for the oil pressure to build up. Oh, and since there's no heat in the turbo to begin with. Yep, sounds like a .483929 of a second at cold startup with no oil pressure and no oil from the previous running of the car killed it.

I was thinking the same thing. Everytime I hear that excuse I think of how ridiculous that sounds. Most all new turbos come lubed anyways so even for that .483929 of a second there is something lubricatiing it. :1

I set it up. The inlet size was a standard 3an line and the drain was a 1" aeroquip piece on a perfect angle. Oiling wasn't an issue. The issue was the retard that rebuilt it.
