Default Dont procrastinate on Wheel Bearings

So i bought a soopa doopa fly 95 Passout like little over a month or so ago and i knew it was gonna need a Driver side rear wheel bearing but You know I didnt do it cause im a lazy ----. So Humming got louder till it was more of a grinding and since i suck at life I let that go to Crunching and on the way to work today it was loud as hell and then it happened. The *** wiggled hard. I Instantly grabbed the wheel with 2 hands, pooped a little, then gracefully glided over to the shoulder and i half expected to see my wheel pass but it looked straight except for the smoke coming from the center cap.

Now my dumbass is doing the wheel bearing and enjoying an excuse not to be at work but this ---- is FUCKED. Yall think i should toss it back together like this or should I get myself a new Spindle and rotor? Bearings aren't much it was 20 bones for the set but I hate halfassing ---- when it means ill have to take it apart again.

Spindle

where teh outside bearing sits on the rotor

and whats left of outside bearing race.

I fucked it up good, swear to god i knew my wheel was comin off. IMO i feel like once i put the new race in it should be fine. Most of that scarring looks like its past where the race goes, just got fucked up casue there wasnt a lot of race left but Im not a flat rate so i dont know.

You can by a new spindle. They're not that expensive and they interchange between like all volkswagens. I waited so long on my front driver side that the race fell out in pieces

You'll get a kick out of the bearings when you go buy them

You should replace it all, or you're going to have to rip it all apart again and repair it. That spindle is fubar. You might get away with using the same rotor if you can knock the new races in. Use lots of lube on those ****!

I've had a bad wheel bearing for the last four years. I'll fix it sometime in 2009, no rush.
