It doesnt mater if its a Sunday or a Monday
Because everyday.. I work on cars, some people go to church on sundays, some people like to spend time at home and clean up their place etc etc. No, I work on cars all week, then sleep in a bit, then go right back to work on them
Here are a few pics from today..
Starting off with (turbohf) Dustin's B17 Head he wanted me to drill out for his ls/vtec conversion. He had already ordered the GE dowl pins. But we are all going to the dyno tuesday so he had to get his ---- together if he wanted to go with us.
I figured I'd do a quick little write up on this process, because some people think its really scary and that you need to buy those expensive dowl pin kits.
Starting off measuing the stock dowl pin at 14mm.
Drill bit of choice, 9/16 which is just a tad over, but will be just fine.
You basically want to make this hole bigger, so the dowl can fit in.
So it matches this one
Be sure to do on a nice level surface and just go slow and take your time.
You want to go down about 10mm to match the other one.
And walah, simple as that.
Good luck dustin getting your ---- together.. I'm sure your in your garage right now, lol
Moving on, I started to do a little bit of work on Dr.Boost's turbo manifold I'm doing for him, still waiting on the collectors from shitbird. Not sure if I'm going to keep it this style I just mocked this up pretty quick and I'm unsure if I really like it or not.
Who has the biggest dick in the shop.. hah, thats what it seems like, Ever since I bought my new toolbox last summer everyone in the shop has been buying new toolbox's and getting extensions on them. Its ------- crazy
Gil, our master Mitsu tech bought his box about 2 weeks after me and got the extra side cabnet (1500 bucks extra!)
Then Larry our master Nissan tech had to really out do us with a hutch and a side locker.
Then finally last week my boss, (bret) bought a new box with a hutch and a top locker, plus he has a side locker coming too.
Do you think our matco dealer is loving us or what? haha, all these boxes are the same size (MB8535) w/ extensions. I personally dont care for all the add on ----, I just wanted a cart that matched my box. Since I work out of my cart more than anything.
Checked out the mailbox this morning and I got my old throttle body back! Liam (the guy who bought both my race intake/exhaust manifolds) from my built ZC didnt want to use the 78mm GM Throttle body, so I traded him back for a stock GSR 64mm throttle body. Worked out well, I'm going to have a custom plate welded on my JG Vic X manifold to get this badboy to fit! It tapers from 96mm to 76mm. Heres a comparison next to a T3 turbo off a chrysler.
And finally me and my girlfriend (Leia) were working on her built H22 tonight. She wanted to see how everything went together and learn all about it.
I had her measure all the rings (ring end gap). We assembled most of it tonite, still need a few things but we should get her up and running within the next few weeks. I'm taking lots of pics for a full write up.
Shes the best

I was gona comment on how i know it was to measure end cap, but I guess you guys under-estimated me. I've got a couple lawn mower engines under my belt, and I just finished rebuilding my dirtbike, torque the head bolts to 18 foot pounds, woot woot!!!!(and reused the original head gasket)
