Get a putter car as your first car just enough to get around, you will destroy this car (everyone does) and i dont think any 16-17 year old should be putting turbo's on there ---- espically when they have only driven for less than 2 years. go to collage and get a good job, then get the bad *** car. Most of us here are either going to collage or have a dead end job. just my $0.02

Yeah, like everybody said above me.......They might not even have gas powered cars by the time you get to drive, so just save your money.

ok.... every one seems to forget what it was like at your age. if you got some $$$ saved and run across a great deal... go buy the car, and put it in you're mom/dads name.
when it comes to tuning it... you're folks could drive it and you could tune it while their driving.
and build the ---- out of it! by the time you're 16 the progect will prolly be finished, and you will have 3 years of knowelege under you're belt.
just remember this when you turn 16: that car don't give a ---- about you! and neither does any of the other ******** on the road. there are 3 things to respect when driving...... the ride, the road, and the rules!
with that being said, good luck in building your dream, set you're goals high, and never compromise!

^^yeah, but you seem to be forgeting how you drove when you were 16. I wrecked the ---- out of all kinds of cars/yards/mailboxes/curbs/large rocks/anything that could be hit by a dumbass 16 year old kid with a license.

I disagree with onyx on this one, I'm going to have a turbo car before I turn 18, I swapped a b16 in when I was 16 and I can control that ***** pretty good, I only hit like 3 kids on my road, but they were asking for it, those idiots knew you can play kickball on the sidewalk and not in my driving path.

read this story, i hear about 5 accidents a week due to dumbass teen driving, and colorado is enacting all sorts of laws to curb this including raising the driving age to 18. Driving is a privelage not a right, remember that.
