I have only been in the Honda thing for about 2 years. The die hard f-body me from before then would probably kick the me of present day in the ***. I still love all kinds of cars. I just like tinkering with the Hondas right now. It has been pretty much summed up by the poster as to why I started messing around with them.

I worked as a used car mechanic at a pretty good sized dealer for about two years. In that time period, I had the chance to drive everything from a mid 80's turbo Lebaron Convetible(------- thing was mint), to C5 Corvettes and WS6s. I got to take a new school Lightning out and rape it along with an assload of Late 90's early 2000's Caddys. I drove other cars such as BMWs, VWs, a few Mercedes, and since I worked for a GM dealer an *** load of other GM products. Out of all the cars I had to check in adn work on, the Hondas were the most problem free and were a blast to drive (very nimble).

It's not like I was stuck driving these cars in congested city traffic, we basically had our own test track called Hwy 10. God I miss driving the Caddys. Fun to drive and plush comfort, but goddamn they have alot of problems, and are expensive to fix.

The only thing that gets tiresome to me is the reputation that ricers(or if you are tired of hearing that IGNORANT ------- KIDS) earn for the rest of the crowd. The other thing I get tired of hearing is that Hondas make no torque. Guess what a 305 make over twice as much torque as a B series, yet a heavy, stock LS teg will run the smae times in a quarter as a stock 305 equipped f-bomb or truck or g-body.

I poured a lot of money into my turd gen and my relatively bone stock 92 GSR would hand it its *** in any department except acceleration off the line.

Just my experiences.

Oh yeah. Hondas are the SBC of the import world. :P

I started with RX7's years ago went to Hondas for a while in the late 90's then on to DSM and back again to Hondas for the past 4 years.I am now struggling with what to do next as i parted out my built CRX and need to start a new project in spring and have narrowed it down to a FD RX7,Toyota Soarer [1JZTT] or build a 4-500whp Civic FWD is mad gay but working on or buying parts for anything that isnt a Honda is also mad gay It sucks because for 15G i could build a nasty near ten second Civic or get a nice RWD car but it would have to be fairly stock.I just cant decide i think i need to finish the Honda thing off with a ten second pass then move on when finaces are there to go fast RWD as that is big money to do it right in a nice chassis.

Nope, not really.

I think about getting another car to play with almost every other day though, but at the end of the day, I keep coming back.

The only things I don't like are the fight for traction, and the bad rep I get for driving the car. Other than that, parts are cheap, the cars make sense to work on, and just plain feel right to drive.

I love all my Honda cars and Projects with them. I think we can all agree that nothings funner than a good strong running turbo Honda. But I do have to admit, as I grow up a bit more, the more I appreciate how nice it would be to have a daily driver and then my Honda race car. I wouldn't mind haveing a nice BMW or even TL to roll in for baller status as well as luxury. Must be nice to have a sick lx-i turbo accord and a TL to pick up the ladies in(DAMN U Jay!).....

Id love to do another project car that isnt a Honda though. A RWD mid 80's Supra would be pretty sweet, or an early 90's MR2.
Ultimately, the choice car to HMT would be this:

67 Nova II. Fuel injected, w/ twin snails. Pure sex.

Dave thats my car, you cant have it...

i love all cars....i just love Honda;s the most...i hate most Honda owners, and i hate the "scene"... i dont like people that own/build Honda's cuz they are the cool thing...you are ricers and can burn in hell...

i have many friends that are true car enthusiast and build a verity of different cars. they always tell me that Honda;s are gay for a wide many of reasons, and honestly they have points with most. but at the end of a day i love my Honda. i love hatchbacks... ive got friends that build some pimp *** Toyota's, VW's, Nissan's, Mitsu's, etc... i love the looks of them, power, style, but the cars them selfs as a whole just dont appeal to me... will i ever build one? yeah maybe. i built a 91 GTI, it was pimp, i loved it...but at the end of the day it just didnt compare to my Honda... everything will be put up against a Honda i have owned and judged...

there are just too many small differences that set a Honda (the ones in there prime...EF/EG/EK/DC/DA/DB/EA) apart from the rest of the cars in the world... just the driving of them... i hated driving my GTI, just didnt feel right even though it was powerful/fast as ----. it just wasnt right... i preferred driving my 92 GSR, even though it was slow as all ----...

sick of "the honda thing"? ---- yeah, i cant chill, work, sleep, eat, ----, etc without thinking about if my car is still where i parked it... on that note i think before i do anything more to my car im gonna buy a gun... legal or not im gonna shot the ****** who steals, or tries to steal my car.....thats just the beginning...

Honda's are and will always be, probably the best example of automotive engineering around. Although they are small economy cars, they lack alot of the problems other manufacturers are blighted with.

The engines are well designed and so are the chassis's. Thanks to Crome/Uberdata etc. the scope for engine modifications on a low budget are almost infinite. And thanks to the support of ricers, good quality performance parts are readily available.

Having previously driven peugeot's and vw's. Although the honda is probably blander to drive then my old 205GTi it is a far better all rounder. I will move away from honda's, eventually, but only once i'm rich enough to buy something turbo powered and rwd/awd.
