Exactly, that and diesel engines don't have to worry about running too lean and causing knock. They basically work because of knock so normal conditions that cause knock (lean A/F ratios) in a gas engine, kinda benefit a diesel.

I can mow for about 3 hours or so and I use about a little less than a 1/4 of a tank on the JD 4120 turbo diesel. 72in mid mount deck FTW.

Eh.....I find that hard to believe. Maybe downhill coasting or something. That can't be average mpg. I can get the digital readout on my Jeep to hit 99mpg if I let off the gas and coast.

I dunno...that's what the guy was telling me he was getting with it...2007 silverado turbo diesel. Thing was a pig to fill up though, stopped at a gas station when it was almost on E and it took about $120 to fill it.

My x boss had an 05 silverado duramaxx 4 door. I installed a banks six guun tuner full exhaust and a bighead regulator on the turbo and OMG. Turn the dial to six, stomp on it from a deadstop. No tire squeal to speak of, but launch to its 99mph speed limit in seconds. That poor allison! And you wanna talk about a cloud coming out the exhaust!!!! In a two lane it would stop traffic in the outside lane. no joke. On the box to the stuff it said something like 700 ftlbs 400hp or something like that. None the less it was insane. Less than 10mpg playing with it just like a gasser. Since then hes taken the rev limiter out of it and says 140mph hes seen. I have yet to be in the truck but I know it had it if it didnt run out of gear first.
