Which direction do you point your subwoofers?

Re: Which direction do you point your subwoofers?
slot port box...pointing UP in an integra...one 12" sub...
I'd rather point it backward but it would slide around and i was afraid the sub would hit something and get damaged...
The box is secured now but I've been to lazy to care about moving it to point back again. plus it already hits so hard it hurts.

thats not true bass goes in all directions but it bounces off of things aswell and that will change the sound you hear.
each sub setup requiers a specific amount of box space and when u get into it it also matters the size of the arear outside the box

IMHO make a band pass box with the port firing into the interior of the car. (sedan, hatch dosent matter I guess) I had an installer do the math for the size dimenions, because that is what matters most, not really which direction they are pointing.

I had always heard you really shouldn't turn the subs intowards the passanger compartment, I also though it sounded better facing back anyways, i rock a 12" Kick in a ported bass tube put it sidways agains the rear seat so the sub faced the side of the car and it sounded great too...
