Default Didn't know where to go with this Question

My brother just picked up a 3000gt. Sad it is not the Vr4 but what the hell I am happy he finally has a car. I don't know anything about the cars so i was wondering, oops more or less he was wondering since the car comes standard with fwd 5 speed. What would be needed to make it the AWD 6 speed. I might even help him do a motor swap but I know what most of your guys are already thinking why didn't he just get the VR4, it is b/c he is living a in rich mans dream and knows his *** can't afford the rest. Plus any one know where i could point him for good sites? Thanks but i will stick to my cheap *** hondas, that last. =]

probably need an entire vr4 drive train... tranny shafts rear dif rear axles all that. And you have to pray that all the mount holes are already there. Im not sure if the engines are even the same.

You know what i jsut thougth.. wouldn't it be much easyer to just get a half clip and do it from there? I know when my friend wanted to do a jdm front end on his type r his did that. The motor alone is worth 5.5 and the whole clip was only 6.5 plus shipping. I think he made out.

ya u could get the front clip.. but then youd still need a rear drive shaft and then the diff and both axles.. probably different hubs in the back to accept the new axles.

i'd stay with the 5speed and fwd and turbo that.

The AWD set up is weak, they have a lot of problems with the transfer case breaking. I wouldn't bother if I were you, Its not worth it, go HMT FWD.
