Default Detailed: 2004 BMW M///

Been awhile since I've posted here. The Civics still in the garage and due for painting. I'm still detailing.......two full years now as my main income. Here's one I just did. Some of you all liked these posts........some didn't oh well.

Thanks in advance.

I post a detail a few months ago of this vehicle. The owner is a manager of a local Mexican restaurant here in Blue Ridge. Since the M's last detail, it's been out of state and driven by a relative of the owner. It came back pretty rough with some wash induced swirls. The nice thing though was that Signature Series II was still beading! Pretty impressive on dark color to me. Oh well. It was a Saturday, my wife was out at her moms, and I was detailing an M.........pretty nice day to me!

Oh something more.......
This is sort of a mini-Cyclo review. I simply love this machine!!!

Wash Cycle:
NXT & Purple Power Pre-Soak
(Applied with foam gun and let dwell for 2 minutes before rinsing)
I simply let this soak and the mix works. Bugs, brake dust and grime let loose. It cleans the engine bay as well. I simply finish the wash with a DP Four-in-One rinseless wash.

Engine Bay, Tires, and Wells:
Armor All Tire Foam & Gel
Not much to talk about here. Not much tire either! I covered the bay with the foam BEFORE the rinseless wash though. This is so the overspray can be cleaned away. I close the hood, crank, and let bake for 15 minutes........or while I do the interior with the A/C on! The well received the foam as well. The tire got a quick swipe of gel. If all tires were like this, I would only have to buy tire dressing once a year!

Paint Correction:
Menzerna PO106ff & Clearkote VMG Mix
(75% 106/ 25% VMG.......to cut down dusting)
(Applied with the Cyclo and EDGE2K Yellow Cutting pads)
This mix was brought to my attention by a fellow detailer named "ScottWax". He has been using the mix with success for a year now. He told me not only would the dusting be done away with but that the depth and clarity would be improved. All were correct. There was no dusting. The glass like appearance of 106 now had some improved depth and richness to it.
Here just look. This with nothing but the above mix........

Paint Protection:
Surf City's Barrier Reef Wax
(Applied via Cyclo and EDGE2k White Pads)
Having had success on the EVO with this awesome, inexpensive wax, I wanted to use it again. This time on one that I'm going to see bi-weekly and that is a dark color. A couple of dots on each pad got it primed. Once primed, a little goes a long way. It goes on a lot like NXT liquid. Smells nice too. It does come off easier with no streaking and with only one coat. In full sun too. Depth was really nice. The touch factor was soft....just like a carnauba wax should be.

Going on..........

One of the major benefits of using a Cyclo is being able to utilize it's four inch pads. I don't care what polisher you use, there will be spots that will have to be waxed by hand. With the Cyclo and EDGE2K Pad system you just pop off a wax filled pad and go to work in the tight areas. This saved time and time is money to me.

Hey man, Glad you posted. Some bitch hit my 07 IS 250. Its been fixed and it looks flawless but I cant wax the car for a month(is what they told me so the paint cures) but if you can give me some tips on how to "hook it up" since winter is coming I want to get it waxed before the cold starts. Its silver to the color is a little forgiving but looks damm good when detailed!
