Having only experience with my busted up 88 rex was wondering what everyones opinions on shock/spring combo's are seeing as I will end up dropping some money sometime this pay period.
Ripped bushings, broken/squeaky trailing arm bushing, squeaky *** rear strut mounts and some blown *** stock struts all lead to a very sad crx : (.

Leaning towards Sportline/Koni yellow or Tokiko Illumina combo, considering KYB doesnt make rear shocks for the 88's. I hope this will end up with a decent and managable ride since this is my daily driver.

Definately intrested in buying ES masterkit with the trailing arm bushing. Anyone with nightmare stories on the install? As for a camber kit cant quite decide on what brand to go with definately going with a anchor style on the front and shimming the rear.

All input will be appreciated except flaming, flame posts must only be accompanied with a shitload of big *** chick pr0n

Im running Tokico blues,HR sport i think springs and a ES master kit except the rear trailing arm where I put in a Altrom OE replacement.This combo is nice ride is good not to bouncy or rough.This wasn't my first time installing a ES kit so I had some prior experience which helps a little.I would book a solid day or two for the install depending on your experience.You will need a good air hammer and torch to do the control arms as the bushings are perma bonded in there or you will have to take them to a shop to get pressed out or removed some how.You will also probably break a couple bolts trying to remove so find some spares.Rear trailing arm I just used a hammer to remove and they popped out.Def worth all the trouble as the car feels 1000 times better and it get rid of all the slop and most wheelhop.I undercoated the wheel wells and painted the control arms etc while I was at it.The urethane lube you have to use to prevent squueking is nasty sticky as well try not to get it everywhere on stuff.Good luck
Also I have a H&R camber kit in the front the type that replaces the mount for the control arm and it works well.I prefer this style over the adjustable ball joint type.The rear I didn't touch i forgot to install shims so Ill get to that some time.

Probably going to end up either splitting with a friend or buying a press, since well let's face it when wasn't the last time you needed a press? . I should really spring and buy a compressor for my house(it's already set up with 220) but i'm too ------- cheap to buy one and besides i can always use my friends ; ). Do you think that it's feasable to do the es kit with a press,ball joint c-clamp and and torch? Maybe i can get one of these shops to do it for 80 bucks and avoid the whole headache

I did my first install couple years ago using a press.Basically you need a press or a torch and air hammer.I do need a press on a weekly basis but I gotta get a compressor myself first.Its not that bad other than the control arms and installing the new ones is the easy part.It is totally worth it as I've driven a few other peoples brand new cars and they feel sloppy in comparision although they don't rattle like a bastard. I also just before that did all my ball joints,tie rods brakes etc basically giving me a %100 new running gear.I'm a firm believer in a replacing all suspension,steering,brakes etc before ever touvhing anything hp wise.I also had local autocrosses in mind so I wanted a tight chassis.Have fun get at least a flat of the finest local brew and get er done

i have KYB AGX and EIBACH Pro Kits on my del Sol
the springs are for an integra...stiffer than the civic or del Sol ones

people bring wheel bearings, ball joints, cv joints and all kinds of other ---- in to have us do it when they dont have the tools, i doubt it would be 80 bucks. last set of wheel bearings i put in i charged a half hour, wich is like 32.50.
