Haha, I like to refer to this one as the other side's big brother. Now I have no "clean sides" Hopefully I can get it all fixed + paint... I got plans for the exterior so I hope this whole mess helps out the process.

In response to all the comments, I was told that I could get the car fixed anywhere I want, but I have to get it checked at the local "Geico approved" place. I'm not totally sure, but I think that implies that they're going to give me a check for however much the damage is. If I end up being low-balled, I'll get estimates from other, good places. Any local cats know anyone that can hook it up?

Okay so I did the little estimate deal today. I got written up for a lot more than I was expecting, which is good - about ~$1600. Does that sound right? I'm still a little foggy on what exactly happens from here. I'm not sure if I'm getting cash, or the body shop I go to is getting the money. They're still deciding liability since they need my statement (should be a no brainer...), so I guess I'll ask after giving my statement.

most likely insurance company will just cut you a check.

get the car out of the body shop, they charge storage fees.
