Default d16y7

like the topic says. would anyone here rock a d17y7? i have the opprotunity to pick one up for dirt cheap. i dont know much about them or have really heard anything about them. i guess its out of the newer hondas(2000+). is there any drawbacks to using this engine? and would it be fairly simple to just swap a d16a6/z6 head onto it with boost? help me out a bit ladies. i can either get the whole engine or just the block. any quick and knowledgeable responses would be great.

i think you mean d16y7, and if its a good deal why not use it. you can always swap the IM for a regular one from a z6 or y8 right?

ok even if. it is actually a complete d16y7 and he just made a mistake in the sale ad should i still get it imma ask for some pics to make sure of what it is anyways. he never got it running so he pulled it out in favor of a B series swap. if its actaully a d16y7 pic it up?

If you don't know that there was never a D17Y7 and that there was a D16Y7 then I wouldn't suggest you turbo anything or attempt any swaps. Eg. Engine building.

Do some research on the engine. The Y series have a weak oilling system.
