D or B series? Which do you prefer?

I would have to go with the D series. Instead of swapping in a motor just work with what you have. Try and make something that is slow and turn it into something that is fast. And I don't know about the rest of you but I am a college student trying to get my education I don't have thousands to dump on a B series for an increase of 40 or less horsepower and the D series gets no love so I want to be able to smoke a b series and tell him to go spend some more money on his B series which he spent double what I spent.

Yea i see what you are saying teg but still d series never get much respect I just think it is cool to take something that is nothing and turning it into some thing much like the B18b for integras. Still the d-series is staying in my engine bay.

i understand why guys love the singles, parts are cheap, and turboing(is that a word?) is also cheaper. i just got a smoking deal on my b16 thats why i got it. if i could go back i would probly take the single just because its cheaper. well maybe :P
and when it comes to racing the v8 like stealth said, a 4 banger is a 4 banger, it dosent matter if its single cam or dual.

The only questions you should ask yourself is how much hp is enough, and can you afford it? I don't care about b or h series my d is good enough. I would hate to blow a b and have to get another one after i put in pistons rods, etc. That's a waste of money. For me the parts are to hard to come by.

Re:D or B series? Which do you prefer?
it all boils down to your budget, i don't give a ---- what you say, if all of you could afford a b18c5, you would have one. those of you that say 'd series for life' *cough*hotrex*cough*, if you had the extra money, you would have got a b, and don't come back with the excuse 'i have a built d for less than a stock b', that's just it, i said if you had the money. if you could afford to buy a b, and build it, you would rather have that than a built d, it just so happens that i bought cars (teg, si) with b series, so that i wouldn't have to worry about a swap, i could work with what i have.

I just mention the budget what are you talking about. Hell I don't race on the track ever other week and i don't have to run from cops so i don't need all that hp. That's fine if you bought your car w/ the b congrat to you, for a good price i would've bought that ----. don't take ---- personal. I've seen guys buy b's and run their mouth about it. The next morning that ---- is gone. It doesn't matter what you have to me just enjoy it. Because it could be gone tomorrow.
