D or B series? Which do you prefer?
Alright, I know there are some strongly oppinionated people on here regarding single or double cam motors. Obviously if you're driving a civic, the D will stay in for a lot of you, but how many of you run, plan on running, or would prefer a B series motor.
As for me, I'm still running my D16Z6, but I just picked up an LS short block so that I can build an LSVTEC for my summer project. If you're able to run a B series, I don't see any reason to try and build the D (other than that parts are dirt cheap)
Whaddaya guys think?

id say ls/vtec. it just has more potential to go faster. without having to spend lots of money to make it go fast. but u pay a lot more if u blow of a b series. but if i had the money id have a built ls.

B series motors can go real fast for real cheap
D series motors are cheap and abundent. If you blow one up, you can get another for $10. There really is no advantage to a D-series, I think they're worthless

d series love. may not be the best platform but it sure is dirt cheap to build, parts are cheap and i guarantee i will lace alotta b series fools this summer. ifor me its just the fact that everyone in my area has a b16a and i just want to show them that the d can be deadly.

The price difference between the two are not that much different. Rods and pistons are the same between the two and thats the most important part of a turbo car. Yeah head work might be slightly more on a B series cause you have to buy one more cam but the B series head will flow a shitload more. As for Quaife's they're pretty much the same price between the two.
I think the main advantage for the D is so that people can say they're single cam is faster than a dual cam. Its always fun to be the underdog.
