Default Crx Front Spring Install - Whats The Easiest Way?

So I was looking at my crx, the rear suspension is pretty straight forward, but the fronts look pretty hard
What the easiest way to get the shocks and struts out of the front of my car? I was hoping to not have to disconnect to much, and I also dont have a spring compressor

Thanks

You can do it without a spring compressor but be careful. One of my roomates did it one time and broke his nose.

Gotta use the weight of the car to release the spring's power. Just disconnect the top mount from the strut and raise the car after disconnecting the UCA from the steering knuckle. Then you need to remove the nuckle from the axles ect to get it out of the way. I've done it a few times but not quite exactly sure all the steps but you can figure it out i'm sure.

SO I actually do have to disconnect the knuckle and ---- out of the way? Have to pry it out of the bottom of the LCA?

I was hoping that somehow I wouldnt have to ---- that that

So I pretty much have to, take off the 32mm nut for the axle, remove the tire, pry the knuckle out of the LCA, swing that away, undo the lower shock bolt and itll come out?

I was hoping there was a way around ------- with the axle nut and the LCA balljoint

No ------ ---- bro. I <3 hondas. The only cars I can work on when I'm drunker than ---- and still figure out what needs to be done. lol

In all seriousness, I just start disconnecting ----. I would explain the most efficient way, but I'm way too drunk. hehe...

No, you do not need to remove the axle.
1) Raise car on stands
2) Remove tire
3) Its good to mark where the spring and the upper insulator meet, to ease positioning the sping later
4) Tap knuckle to remove lower ball joint
5) Disconnect brake lines from strut
6) Tap knuckle to remove outer tie rod end
7) Loosen and remove bolt on fork attached to lower part of strut and remove the fork
# Remove top bolts holding strut assy to body of car
OK heres the thing, you can remove the top off of the assy, just put it in a vise and point it away from you.
Now if you want to install lowering springs, a spring compressor really is not necessary.

One of the only times I agree with Scott. It's a ------- Honda...not rocket science.
