Default Crazy Guages Please Help

I took off the valve cover from my 95 civic with a d15b7 this weekend to paint it. When I put it back on my car wouldn't start. So I pushed started it and the guage cluster went crazy my af and boost guages where fine. The thing that gets me is that I drove the car on friday. The exact syntoms are the temp is past the red hot bar, the speedo and tach are jerky, my fuel is empty. I went to start the car this morning, monday, and it wouldn't start but the radio worked. I rewired the radio 2 months ago and I taped up loose ends ie a wire that was cut and no aparent power. After the radio rewire my clock didn't work but thats fine. A month ago I put a HM Turbo setup on with a turbo timer. Everything was fine until now. I search google and they say its the altenator resistor or a wire short. If it was a wire short would it have done it right after I did the rewire? I checked my tape job and everything was still perfect. Sorry for the long post hopefully someone can help. BTW this is my daily driver which I can't drive until this is fixed.

There is a ground on the thermostat housing. Unbolt that and leave it like that for a while. That should clear it right up
