Actually, APD officer Spears didn't even deny he had no lights or siren when he came over the blind hill at Haywood + Mitchell doing 85 in a 30 mph zone. He just said the occupants of the other car he T-boned (Raymond McDade and Justin Boring) had been drinking, you could smell the alcohol.

I imagine since the driver's seat area was pushed over on top of the passenger's seat area, and it looked like both Justin and Raymond would die, he figured he could say what he wanted. The "smell of alcohol" was from the previous-to-the-wreck unopened six pack they'd just bought.

Both Justin and Raymond lived, although it was touch and go with Raymond (driver), and they thought he'd be a vegetable for life until he regained consciousness. No BAC tests were ever performed. Officer Spears didn't even get reprimanded.

GREAT ------- COUNTRY, ISN'T IT?

then make that continent(sp)! Cops up here think they are above the law. One time my boss seen a cop doing 80-90km/h in a 60 zone, so he said screw it, and kept up with the cop. Got to Home Depot and turned in. The cop turned around and told my boss that he was speeding. Boss asked to see the radar and the cop said his speedometer is an accurate measuring device and he was going 80 km/h. Boss goes "So you are saying it's ok for you to speed, but not me? F OFF" and walked away, cop didnt bother with anything.

Cops suck. PERIOD.

the cop probably wont get in too much trouble as we all hope he would. Your friend will get something out of it though. But don't think he'll get alot

hope the best for your friend. best thing for him to do is to get a good lawyer. that is the only way, he would get what he deserve. good luck, and best wishes for your friends.

Well like mentioned Cops dont always run code 3 to every call. Sometimes even priority calls may not get lights and sirens, especially at night. Lights are very visible at night and the siren carries for miles. You may not want the badguys to know you're coming...

hopefully it will not be that way, but we all know how cops are.
No... and how exactly are cops? Just cause one old lady steals from Walmart doesnt mean they all do.

Public safety, he was speeding and didn't have his vehicle under control.

Look what happened.

A guy I work with got hit by a cop a few months ago at an intersection. He had grren, cop ran red with no siren/lights. Took his front bumber off and messed up the fender on his 03 passat. Cop was found negligent, but he needs to be found GROSSLY negligent to award any money. ---- the police.

so the passat needed to be about 3 feet faster and have his guts plastered all over the road for it to be grossly negligent? ---- cops.
