ya.. screw that fight that thing. I got a ticket once on may 27, 2002. first cop told me I was doing 60 in a 40 zone (KM/hr). That is when I found the need to inform him it was actually a 50 zone. 10 over (km/h) and the *** still gave me the ticket. Well upon arrival at home I inspect the ticket for accuracy. first he stated that my 1988 crx was a 2002 model (?) but it doesnt matter, the VIN was accurate. Then I noticed the date of the infraction. January 27, 2002. lol I dont drive my car in the winter, got off on that one scott free.

Speed contest has nothing to do with how fast your going.. I have gotten them for excellerating fastly and loudly.. They have a million and one things to give you a ticket for.

What state do you live in? Sounds like your a coloradoan.

You get a "drag racing" ticket for peeling out, and its an instant 12 point violation (license revoke). Most of the time, you'll get off with a heavy fine and a lesser ticket by the DA.

if they caught you peeling out and speeding, its an instant trip to jail for the night and immediate suspension of your license.

As always a good attorney will go to bat for you, and the money you spend paying his salary may be saved later on in life because a drag racing ticket is certainly going to ---- you from insurance.

judging by what you say the cop was a chick. You should of said "hey officer i got this big **** that you need to suck" I think the expression on her face would be worth it. As for the ticket i can't say i never got one of those .....i hope i never will. Best of luck though hope it works out and you get out of the ticket . It feels good getting out of a ticket.

Yes i live in colorado and the cop did not have a good veiw because it was dark and all she could see was the lights in the distance. I am lucky that i did not get thrown in jail. Do you have any idea what the DA will reduce the ticket to?

you hae got to be in Fort Collins, there is a bitch cop tha seams to think that every import on the road should be banned and replaced with american ----. i hate her ***, she needs to ------- die or grow up. And if it is that cop its time to report her *** and if she gets too many of them they will review her.

Alright Alright we seem to have a nice hot and heavy debate here. I feel i have a right to take a shot at this one because i have gotten 5 speeding tickets and got out of every single one not to mention 3 or 4 other violations ive had. Most of them were no shows because the officer had a criminal case to attend to and that has priority. As far as the car identification that doesnt matter. #1 THING TO DO IS IF IN FACT THE COP SHOWS UP AND SPILLS HER GUTS THE JUDGE IS ALWAYS GOING TO BELIEVE HER, SO START CRYING AND TELL THE JUDGE U HAD JUST BOUGHT THE DAMN CAR AND WERE VERY EXCITED AND UR A ------- KID AND UVE LEARNED UR LESSON, AND HELL CUT U A SICK *** BREAK. however if she makes a weak argument and doesnt remember everything attack her *** and say do you remember the other car.. do you remember how fast we were going... its was a ------- green light we both had to go and so on. hopefully she wont show, try and call city hall and find out when her vacation or off days are and see if u can get an extension on the ticket
Good luck with everything

First of all Turbo CRX you do not live in Colorado - our population is very minimal compared to CA. We also have a much tighter and ---- police force.

For ***** sake, have you ever seen someone cited for smoking under age in California?

Or my favorite, the police out here in Windsor gave me an official warning that my weeds were getting to big along the sidewalk on the side of the house that I didn't even know was my ------- property?

A contest of show ticket in colorado is a VERY SERIOUS deal.
If its not hit harshly, its an instant revocation of your license and a heavy fine. The police in Larimer county are especially notorious with this.

HOWEVER, since you have no previous record, I would be very polite with the DA. There is a 50/50 chance you will get a 'good behavior' parole basically.

How it works is if you don't get in any other traffic violations for a year, they simply roll it off your record.

You will also need to explain what was going on, don't lie and say you just got the car theres easy evidence to prove thats bullshit (if indeed it is). There is no sense is lying, it will just dig yourself deeper.

If you feel very threatened by the officer, hire an attorney - I wish I had when I got in my accident three years ago. I was put at fault for being hit in a neighborhood by a guy going 40 miles over the speed limit but my grandparents (I was 17 at the time) told me to just let it go.
My insurance would be alot cheaper had I not been in that situation.
I was able to talk it down to an unsafe vehicle and a $90 fine - so its still not as terrible has a 'wreckless u turn' which was originally a $150 fine and 6 points (I believe it was talked down to 2 points).

I've had 2 speeding tickets and one following to closely, I have full points again (as the last violation expired in March of this year). And I'm trying to keep it down.

Yes, its fun to street race I know, but you gotta be smart to...

Is it really worth it to lose your license? For me, hell no, especially since I am looking to start my own business here and I don't want to taxi cab around to customers.

All in all, if you live up in larimer county, I am readily available to talk with you. As is Onyx, I don't know the law very well but I can point you to a good attorney's office in Fort Collins (their above the starbucks on the corner of College & Horsetooth).

P.S. Even if they revoke you, you can still get a 'red license' one of the kids I went to school with at AIMs had one.

Essentially its designed for students, so that you are legally allowed to drive to and from school or work. However, if you get caught on a pathway outside of such driving conditions (ie, going up to horsetooth) they will pull your license and suspend you for 3 years. With a red license, I believe its 8-12 months. Not positive.

that was a nice post, very informative, yea i feel u i figured any small town its a lot more personal and hectic. just step up the plate and handle ur business but dont take it how it comes or ur gonna regret it, apologize and ask for any route other then suspension and all that bullshit even if it means driving like a weenie for 1 year, its better then no driving at all, a lil boost is better then none
u feel me?

if you get a lawyer you will have to pay a lot of money but you will get off easy. one of my friends got a 110 in a 70 taken down to a parking violation/probation/community service for about $900.

he is lucky the cop didnt just haul him to jail when he stopped him. the cop said something about doing the same thing when he was a kid.

at least go to court if ur tryin to get out of a ticket. worst thing that happens is that u just have to pay the ticket. the worst thing are out of state tickets.. you have to drive all the way back to where you got the ticket to fight it.
