Yup. 60% (200+ people) of the teamsters where i work are losing their job to a robot. But guess whos gonna be running it *****!?

Your best bet might be to take some time off but DO NOT GET A GOOD JOB. You end up taking a good job during your "year off" and you get comfortable, make desent $$, meet a chic, get married, gets pregnant x 5 and now you hate your job, don't make enough $$ and become bald

My motivation to stay in school was really crappy summer jobs, I couldn't wait for school to start.

I would say go for the pipefitting. It is a good trade and wages are probably as good if not better than a accountant. There is a growing demand especially in the oil/gas sector which is set to explode quite soon. The nice part is you get paid decent wages all the way through your apprenticship and don't come out with a huge student loan debt.I personally went for Millwright and Im going to get my welding ticket as well.I plan on spending some time in the far north working as I can do 6-8 months in and take 4months off a year. It's quite easy to make well over 100K a year if your willing to put up with 6-8months in the land of oil and gas.The workforce in trades is getting older and older and I believe in roughly 10 years they are going to have to look at importing trades workers if they can't convince more young people to get in.The sad part is I know lots of people who went to school for 3-4 years and now owe lots of money and make 30-40K a year.On the other hand if you have the ambition and finacial ability to pursue a degree in medicne, pharmacuticals[sp?],law etc go for it by all means.

Go to the who works where post.
Compare who makes more money and whether or not they finished college.

Find something you enjoy in school and focus.

why i can't focus...
I cant get up early if i am not getting paid for it
I cant smoke bud and focus at school
I can smoke bud and focus at work, not sure about pipefitting, but right now i can
I graduated high school so I wouldn't have to do what i am doing now for 4 more years, i am just sick of school man.

I know, college iis more secure, but i am leaning towards not givin afuck anymore

Hey, i think it was pretty smart of you to make this post. I hope you get a lot out of it and i hope my input will make a difference in how you think of things.
I cant tell you school is great and you should enjoy it, because id be a hyprocrit. I currenty go to school part for reasons i havent even fully convinced myself of, and i only go part time due to the heavy workload ive brought on myself running a business. I have no complaints or regrets though. Last semester i was attending school full time and running the business and it was killing me. So i made the desicion to cut down on school as it was least enjoyable of the two. School itself and some of the knowledge you can take from it is very important. It really all comes down to what you want to do man. Getting up early is something i dont like either, but its ok if its for work or business, i couldnt do it for school.
My advice to you is this:
#1, stop smoking bud and starting practicing that welding you want to do at home.
#2, put a little effort into passing your classes this semester
#3, Take less classes and take them in the evening next semester.
#4, Try some new work in your freetime, work with friends, relatives or whoever under the table, or just do walk throughs and see if you like what their companies are about.

Whatever you decide, God bless and good luck.
