alright, I am thinking about dropping out of college after this quarter. I was planning on being an accountant, but frankly, I ------- hate the idea of school, i went 12 years for a ------- reason, or so I thought. It seems like college is just the same as high school. My godfather Runs the local union, and my grandfather and uncle were pipefitters. I am considering becoming a plumber/pipefitter. I want to learn to weld, and I definately will with this. The only problem is that the apprenticeship takes 4-5 years to complete before you make bank. I am lost not sure which way to go, but I am sick of school 3 weeks in. ------- ---- i dunno what to do, and for reading this here you go, *** and *******

im in the same boat as you bud, i went to college for a year. hated it besides the partying, i'm now at a local community college and hate it even more. i have no idea what the ---- i want to do, i think im just gonna start working at a car dealership as a detailer or shop helper and hope i can eventually work my way up to a tech or something

4-5 years doesn't seem that long to be an apprentice. You're either going to have to go to school, or learn a local trade. (Something that can't be outsourced or duplicated by computer)

I never liked school but I did my time and it paid off, I mean I have a job doing what i wanted to do...My gf is struggling right now and really hating school but seriously you gotta decide if you are gonna be happy doing little jobs and your def not gonna make any massive amount of money...I'd say finish school, i mean take some bullshit degree but as long as you have that paper you are gonna be able to get a decent job...its your choice, I'd say finish school

I'll tell you what its like for me. Straight out of high school I got into construction and have been making good money since. But, now I am 30 and hate my job, it sucks to get up in the morning to go do something that you hate. Besides I'm sore as ----. I have been going back to school for a year and a half to change careers knowing I will have to start all over again at a low wage. I say get school out of they way now so in 10 years you dont wake up sore as hell and pissed off that you didnt just get it out of they way when you where young.

I've worked in construction for some number of summers. I don't want to do that for the rest of my life. as of now I don't plan on leaving school, but if I do I'm going into the military so I either die or retire in 25 years.

Well I am a firm believer in going to college, but a union isn't a bad deal. Depending on where you are. I live near chicago, so we are full of corrupt as mob infested unions. but they get paid well, and here pipe fitters are the best one to be in. I don't know ho much accountants make but. 35 an hour, 35*40*52=76800 per year, not bad. and thats no over time, no time laid off. I honestly don't think an accountant with an undergrad degee from a crap school will make that, but you have to figure out what you want to do with your life you know. Not everyone needs to be rich, and not everyone is cut out for hard work.

I have a year left till I get my undergrad and its been hard, but I look at people I know when I go out taht have jobs that are the beginning of a career making about 30 per year now, and they go out every night, spend "money" but I want more than an apartment, and I don't have any hook ups so I need to find my own money.

So yeah it sucks now, but I think it will be worth it when I'm livin big fat and old

i just graduated high school and now im attending York College for Pre-Law then off to Law school for my law degree I have 8 more years of school... its gonna be a bitch but its worth it man... just think of it this way do you a job doing manual labor or ya wanna sit behind a desk all day? At least at the desk you have a computer to be on HMT all day long lol

I've been in college for 2 years now. I have changed my major 5 times. From nursing to anesthesiology to radiology to physicians assistant, and now to a associates in arts and science (I go to a tech school, so I will be transferring to a 4 year university...USC columbia). Majoring in business management after the transfer. The plan is to makesome decent money then after a few years into it, buy into some franchises and maybe start my own business somehwere down teh road. I felt like I Wasnt getting anywhere with the medical majors. I Was learning it pretty easily, but I felt like I Would be bored...because I was in class. Accounting is kicking my *** right now for some reason. I follow it with no problem in class, but when test time comes, I suck.

If i had some sort of direction of where i wanted to go in life I don't think I would hate school so much. I'll probably take a break and work full time, and hopefully figure out what i want to do
