Toyboy, your hasty generalizations and illogical reasoning proves, without a doubt, you are the dumbest mother ****** i've met on this forum; congratulations.

I don't believe you've ever built a single pc in your existence, considering you average the cost of a pc at $1000-1500.

lettuce consider the following:
80 for a processor & fan
80 for a motherboard
100 for a video card
20 for a case
30 for a power supply
40 for ram

350 =/= 1500
these are even retail prices.. so you need a little software/hardware experience and 350 will get any game you want running.. but what your saying is a $700 PS3 and $80 per game is a better choice? I don't expect you to understand this because you've already failed to recognize it from the start. Have fun with your fanboy personality and I hope you never reproduce for the sake of humanity.

oh wow.. this tool doesn't even realize an obvious intentional misspelling when he sees it. Furthermore, check out the context in his post, can we say "BANDWAGON"?

where-as a $1000-1500 PC will have abit more hardware. said comuter already can't handle high end computer games avalible today at medium details. Supreme Commander would throttle it inside of a 20 minute game. playability, and all the niceities of such a price range computer with a high medium end to low high end gfx solution and a medium end cpu will already be sliding down the gaming trail within 12 months of today. yet at the end of the day you still get 4-5 years out of a ps3 or 360 and you've only spent a few hundred bucks.

honestly i like pc gaming better when i game except for sports games. thumball(mouse) + keyboard > the best controller at fps, rts and rpg's (rpg's are faggish)only mother ------- morons stay in the PC computer game. you blow more money in hardware upgrades every 2 years, and rebuilding / building new computers every 3-4 years than 80% of this board member's rides are actually worth in the first place.
that's a stupid investment to play games that will come out on the consoles anyway.
XBOX AND PS3 ARE ------- COMPUTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the xbox 360's video card has 10mb of ram! it runs at 500mhz but seriously 10mb of ram...

the xbox itself has 512mb of ram....

both the ps3 and xbox 360 are 3.2ghz cpu

ps3 has 250mb of ram....

these are like computers from 4 years ago

both are based on IBM powerpc

Umm, the reason consoles have less ram than most current day PCs is because they don't have bloated *** windows running in the background.

The 10mb DRAM the 360 has is used for storing different shaders/filters/whatever, which are usually programmed in assembly and don't require much space. The 512mb ram it uses is used for storing textures and everything else. It has 3 cores running at 3.2ghz each.

Memory Bandwidth
* 22.4 GB/s memory interface bus bandwidth
* 256 GB/s memory bandwidth to EDRAM
* 21.6 GB/s front-side bus

That's pretty ------- fast memory bandwidth there.

Both systems have 512mb ram. PS3 has 8 cores instead of 3, and yeah they're all 3.2ghz.

Anyway you can't really compare PCs and consoles. For the price, when consoles come out, you cannot build an equally fast performing PC...but games are "free" so it balances out. Consoles aren't running a fully featured operating system in the background that's sucking up resources, nor is it multitasking between applications. They are structured differently, and process ---- differently. Consoles are built to PLAY GAMES and PC components are built for RUNNING APPS. I don't want to hear any ---- "wahh PCs are built for gaming too!" No ----, but consoles are built with the sole purpose of playing games, and so all their components are optimized for playing games, and all the components are put on a single board with ------- high data bus speeds...since it's all "one chip." PCs are built for running software (and gaming) and are more focused towards running software at a fast speed. Their components are interchangeable and the bus speeds aren't as fast as consoles unless you spend money on top of the line ----.

This is a lame argument, get what the hell you want. If you want a good performing platform without spending too much cash, and never have to deal with the headaches PCs cause at times, just go with the console. If you want top of the line performance at higher than 1920x1080 resolution, then go for a PC. I don't play much games anymore myself, but consoles are better "bang for buck." They are mass produced using the same components, and are going to be cheaper, especially since the console manufacturers usually LOSE money on them to sell for cheap.

I'll say I'm wrong when you show me a parts list of the following for under $300 that will perform as well as a 360:
A 3 core processor with each core running 3.2ghz
500mhz video card with 48 shader pipelines
512mb 700mhz GDDR3 ram
12x DVD ROM (yes, cheap)
Motherboard
Case
Fans
Power supply
High quality soundcard
Some sort of bluetooth card for wireless
