Recently my oil has been wreaking of gas. I've decided it's either my rings or leaky injectors. The latter is easier to rule out so I thought I'd try and clean my injectors. Sure, I could send 'em off to R/C or whoever and pay for a professional cleaning, but this is HMT damnit!

Hmm...how do I force cleaner through an injector at high pressure? I don't have a compressor, but look over there, an air pump!



Hook a hose up to the needle end:



Rig up the injector, via resistor, to 12V (I used 10V):



Attach other end of hose to injector and commence the force feeding:



There was some residual gas in a couple of the injectors, and let me tell ya...if you sniff atomized gas, it'll give you a nice high!

Back flowing them (feeding cleaner through nozzle) wasn't as exciting, so I didn't capture it. Time to go fire her up....

Anything I could get my hands on. Castrol's "Super Clean" seems to do a good job. Then I tried Engine Brite.

I'll give me oil a good changin' and we'll see what it smells like after 100 miles.

im assuming that you put the cleanser in the hose and forced it through via the pump... Good job man!

ya i just pay 12 bucks a pop to get them tested cleaned new o rings and ----...
