Default clean and tidy

im going to have my engine out, on a stand and i want to clean it up a bit. actuly alot. i want it to be very clean but i know aluinium oxidizes over time. is there a clear coat that i can put on it prior to install?

There is a product called zoop. Its meant to be a clear over polished aluminum. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a clean aluminum finish.

make sure you have all the holes to the engine blocked of with some kinda tape or rags, like the intake and exh

totally. i dont want to do this again.

will those little yellow 3m disks that you can put on a diegrinder work for a general prep? to remove the oil and baked on coolant

A verry soft stainless steel wire wheel on a dril will do wonders on aluninum.

It should hold up to temps due to the fact they use it on bikes ,cars trucks ,etc. ck it out

how well does the high temp paint hold up. are there any brands better than others?
