He should have just bolted Mk3 seats in if he wanted high back seats. Between door panels and transmission hump you really have all the side bolsters a skinny white dude could ever need; people over 6' or 180 lbs are bowed up inside GT6 to the point they couldn't drive one.

Stuff like this pisses me off: http://www.justdrive.ca/gt6/oilcooler/index.html

The problem with the Triumph I-6 is they starve for oil upon startup due to poor sump/pump design. Sure, they still last 200K in stock form and stock treatment, but they like to suck air around corners and stuff. Some jackasses get a minor improvement in startup oil pressure when running a cooler but it's due to extra oil being added to fill the cooler system + keeping the pump wet/primed. You still have the hard cornering problems where you suck air, and now you have oil getting too cold in cool weather problems added in to the mix. If any of these people monitored oil temps and pressures maybe 5% of them would figure this out and tell the rest what the problem is.

Short of redoing the sump, which is not really needed due to hassle factor, running a $170 Accu-sump pre-oiller takes care of all problems. When oil pressure drops with engine spinning and key in the on position it feeds pressurized oil into the galleys, which compensates for startup and cornering scenarios. That costs less than the oil cooler kit your friend installed plus it takes care of the problem unlike your friend's oil cooler.

The problem with British cars is 99.7% of the people owning them are gay elderly men who don't know ---- and expect you to keep any British car stock AND let them be condescending to you because they are 30-40 years older and in that time have barely mastered the skills required for a good oil change. Of the other 0.3% of British car people, well, the signal-noise in that group is poorer than Honda-Tech's. You get people telling you that stock GT6 u-joints are failure pieces and they have to be driven like there is an egg under the gas pedal to keep them from breaking, and it's based off of people with warped halfshafts whose cars noticeably vibrate at speed destroying the u-joints and the rear ends.

PS, sorry to be a ranting douche when you're trying to be cool and hook me up with car pr0n. I dislike Mk1's; they have gay cylinder heads, the rear suspension is soaked in failure and AIDS, and chop tail>rounded tail with the infected zit taillights. Plus, if you analyse the paragraph above you'll understand why I don't ---- around much with British cars anymore. You hit one of my buttons without meaning to.

It's ok JD... He's just a guy that I autox with on the odd occasion and not really a friend just an aquantance. No offense taken. I was more shocked by the fact you liked quirky old british cars to begin with.
