Greddy pieces aren't typical chinese stuff. They're designed in Japan but contracted in China under 100 times more stricter tolerances than the typical chinese part. Greddy parts are made IN China, but you don't see the usual lowballer price tag on them. There's a reason for it...R&D and craftsmanship.

I think I would rather have a used "name brand" turbo rather than a Chinaman turbo. On the other hand they do make the price of decent parts come down to compete which still saves money in the long run. So on second thought yes, tell all your friends to buy them also.

Not really when you think about it. Take as an example AMS...they make a really nice but pretty expensive fmic for Evo 8's and 9's (price tag around $730 or so). Now take in comparison the chinese copy of the AMS fmic...you can usually snag them off ebay for $120-$130 shipped. Physically they look almost identical, but performance wise they're on the complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Has this dropped the price on a great piece of equipment that has tons of R&D into is, is completely hand fabbed and checked and double checked for fitment and leaks, and uses only the best Garrett cores? Not one bit. The chinese copies use stamped end tanks mated to wimpy bar and plate cores that are better as radiators than IC's, AMS's are fully hand fabbed to their specs around a quality core. They have costs that factor in along with the testing, where as the chinese one's are just slapped together as fast as possible with no thought or care given to fitment or leaks. The people who want the quality equipment know to stay away from chinese crap, and when China's standards are raised to meet that of the US's and other countries, you'll see the price on those nice cheap pieces go way up too.

The problem is that china doesnt have the knowledge that we have here in North America or even in Japan. Turbo design need a lot of precision and its the precision that cost money. Cheap labor == no good knowledge and no good knowledge == Fail
